Thingvallavatn ("the Lake of the Fields of Parliament") is a rift valley lake on the Mid Atlantic Ridge, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. The lake is partially within the boundaries of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.This photograph was shot about at noon.
